Flooring Project: Community Action Partnership

May 15, 2021 by CBL Admin

New flooring was recently installed at Head Start’s Ruth Benner Center. It was first installed at the University Avenue Bigelow Center and Head Start was so satisfied with the flooring that they commissioned CBL to install new flooring at Ruth Benner.  Maintenance supervisor Mark said that CBL was very professional. One installer did the vast majority of the work and did a very good job. At every phase of the install, all issues were taken care of right away. Installers were in constant contact with Mark, updating him on what their schedule was since it was important to do the work when the classrooms were empty.
“Jim Loude was always at the ready to assist where needed. The crew really knew what they were doing and were very accommodating to Head Start’s schedule.” Mark said his experience in working with various vendors is that you often get a little tension among the workers, but CBL’s workers all seemed to know each other and got along well. He is very appreciative of the good relationship that he has with CBL and its entire staff!
The Ruth Benner Center serves over 140 children per day at the preschool program. Since 1965, Head Start has been serving the needs of disadvantaged infants, children, and pregnant women across America.  High-quality early childhood education is provided to children ages birth (in home services) to children between the ages of 3-5 who live in Ramsey & Washington County. Comprehensive services are provided to enrolled children and their families which include health screenings, nutrition, social services, and other family resources based on the family’s individual situation. Children between the ages of 3 to 5 attend center-based programming and classes are offered in either half-day or full-day options at centers conveniently located throughout Ramsey County. Eight centers operate half-day classes, 4 days a week from September through late May. A full-day, full-year option is also available at the Bigelow Head Start Center, or through partnership contracts with community childcare facilities.
Families whose income is less than 100 percent of the current federal poverty guidelines are prioritized, though all families, regardless of income, are welcome to apply. Children with special needs and children who are learning English are also welcomed.  https://caprw.org/services/head-start/overview.html
